Lovingly referred to as “Ramblin’ Steve” for his capacity to chit-chat for hours on end, Steve is our kind of guy. He’s been collecting reclaimed lumber for years simply because he likes the history of our area. When, in 1971, he was offered the lumber from a major granary that was being deconstructed in the City of Rome, NY, he did not hesitate to buy up as much of the wood as he could. There it sat for 40 years, untouched, with no buyers. His investment paid off; we purchased the whole lot when we saw the radiance of this old hemlock – probably cut sometime around 1922.
Here, we have these wonderful floating shelves in 2″ by 12″ dimensions, available in three custom-blended colors. Please select the length you require, and the color you’d like best.
Let us know whether the shelves will be installed by your contractor or carpenter, or whether you would prefer to install them yourself. We recommend having your floating shelves professionally installed for maximum strength and durability. If you choose to have your contractor install the shelves, please pass along his or her information as you make your purchase; either at checkout or via email.
For light-duty and decorative purposes, we do offer a Do-It-Yourself option at a cost of $95. In selecting this option, you receive a shelf with an embedded metal strip which serves as the hanging system. While we can offer only limited customer support for DIY-installation shelves, the kit does contain a comprehensive set of hanging instructions which have worked for thousands of customers through the years. Included are instructions for all standard wall types.
