No one works harder, and with more precision, than the Amish. For the American Boulangerie Series, we’ve employed several local Amish mills to process some truly fine lumber from several Granges constructed between 1830 and 1875. Seeing Arthur, a local Amish sawyer, hunched over the machinery of his steam-powered mill, one is transported to another time. As he slices huge beams and planks, the exposed edges show the character that one only sees in aged solid hemlock. Once we’ve applied several hearty coats of all-natural shellac to this wood, it almost glows with a comforting hue that reminds us of the glow of our woodstove on a winter night.
We’re certain that the American Boulangerie Series will transport you to a simpler time; a time not only when things were slower, but a time when things were made right and lasted long.
Here, we have these wonderful floating shelves in 2″ by 10″ dimensions, in the “Natural” color, pictured. Please select the length you require, and the color you’d like best.
Let us know whether the shelves will be installed by your contractor or carpenter, or whether you would prefer to install them yourself. We recommend having your floating shelves professionally installed for maximum strength and durability. If you choose to have your contractor install the shelves, please pass along his or her information to us as you make your purchase; either at checkout or via email.
For light-duty and decorative purposes, we do offer a Do-It-Yourself option at a cost of $95. In selecting this option, you receive a shelf with an embedded metal strip which serves as the hanging system. While we can offer only limited customer support for DIY-installation shelves, the kit does contain a comprehensive set of hanging instructions which have worked for thousands of customers through the years. Included are instructions for all standard wall types.
